In the example shown in the video above, the word "xiū" in "xiūxi" (meaning "rest") is explained using a visual story:
Imagine a person leaning against a tree — perhaps after working under the sun in the fields — taking a break.
In the character for "xiū" (休), the left part represents a person (亻), and the right part represents a tree (木).
Learning through imagery makes Chinese characters much easier to remember!
